Wav Junky's Website for Wavaholics
Wav Archives
On May 7, 2000 I started updating my wavsite with a new wav daily. At the time my site was on Xoom.com, but was yanked for some (unknown to me) reason on May 14, 2000. On May 15, 2000 I signed up for a site on 50megs.com and have been happily updating every day since.
Here are all the wavs from the beginning -
May 2000 - June 2000 - July 2000 - August 2000 - September 2000 - October 2000 - November 2000

October 2000

October 1 - 3, 2000 Server down most of the time. Worked a lot on chat wav pages!
October 4, 2000 overwork - 43k - from Star Trek:Voyager, Tovak "The crew will not benefit from the leadership of an exhausted captain."
While the server was down Elf, Punz, and I took a few days off to relax. But we're back and uploading new stuff today! When we have everything up and all the 'bugs' worked out I'll add a new link to 'Wav Junky's Chatwavs for Chataholics'.
October 5, 2000 argument - 18k - male "Is this the right room for the argument?"
Elf has gotten himself into a 'debate' with a webmaster at another site, and has been given the dubious honor of making that person's Dweeb Letter page.
The opinions and thoughts expressed by Elf (Dave) are his own! I (Wav Junky) don't want any part of the bloodshed!!! I'm trying to remain a neutral third party.
ray - 154k - Wav Junky put that very eloquently. This webmaster also always feels it necessary to get in the last word. He replied to another of my E-Mails then promptly put me on his exclude list. He is like a ten year old, he can dish it out, but he can't take it. Wav is a clip of "The asshole song" by Dennis Leary. A real comedian with original material. "No, I've got to go out and have fun at someone else's expense...I'm an asshole, I'm an asshole."
October 6, 2000 exorcist - 170k - Punz, Elf, & I went out last night and saw "The Exorcist". Elf said it gave him nightmares the first time he saw it, (he was 6) I rather doubt he'll have the same problem this time. Punz though could be a problem, she had never seen it before. In celebration of seeing a great classic movie in the theater again today's wav is a clip of Michael Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" which happens to be the theme song to "The Exorcist."
October 7, 2000 Elf did today's update
First I do feel it is necessary to apologize to anybody that may be related to Cumberland College allumnus for the year 1915. This is probably your least favorite day in sports history.
Today we have two wavs going up. Today is the anniversary of the defeat of Cumberland College by Georgia Tech. The score of this game put it in the record books.
Georgia Tech 222
Cumberland College 0.
A humiliation like this one should never have occured. I'm of the opinion that the Georgia Tech coach should be ashamed of himself, but that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
carnage - 45k - from Death Race 2000, announcer "Nothing you have ever experienced can prepare you for the unbridled carnage you are about to witness."
unb - 74k - Sports announcer "How good was that?" (crowd noise) "Unbelievable."
October 8, 2000 chathug - 35k - "I want to hug you in parentheses!"
Wav Junky's Chatwavs for Chataholics is open for business!
October 9 - 10, 2000 wjget2work - 26k - created by Elf "Wav Junky! Get to work!"
Hi all, this is Elf, way back in May, when this daily update thing started, I asked Wav Junky; "are you sure you know what you're getting into?" WJ said "Yeah I know what I'm doing here, wait and see I'll get this done." Well here we are a few months later and the site is getting updated sporadically, I'm the only one that is being faithful about the updates that I do on my days off. todays wav is dedicated to Wav Junky. You said you were going to handle it, so "Wav Junky! Get to work!"
October 11, 2000 sabrina - 19k - Elf's almost 15 year-old sister is spending the week with us. As a result Elf has gone into Super Brother mode. This is a clip of M.C. Hammer's "Can't touch this" because if any boy does try... Elf will cut his fingers off at the elbow! "Can't touch this, can't touch this, can't touch this." (this wav is recorded as mpeg layer-3)
October 12, 2000 requests - 52k - "Give me a wav! I want a wav! Send it now! Where's my wav? I want it now! Now! Now!"
My buddy(?) Don over at My Fave Wavs sent me a note yesterday. "Hey WJ ! Daily updates are a religion ! I agree with Elf, "Get to work !" hehehehehehehe
Don Gough
My Fave Wavs"
With friends like this who needs enemies? Heheeheeee...
October 13, 2000 All of today's wavs are recorded mpeg layer-3 format. (And picked by Elf!)
fritnite - 69k - Happy Friday the 13th. Hope you're not superstitious.
superstitious - 38k - Clip of "Slow and Easy" by Whitesnake. "I want a superstitious woman. She got a superstitious mind."
superstitious2 - 34k - Clip of Elvis "Suspicious minds" "We can't go on together with suspicious minds."
October 14, 2000 Punz wanted to do today's wav, so here is our favorite pixie...
Hi!!! Elf musta had a 'blonde' moment when he picked yesterday's wavs. He had put up 2 clips "I want a superstitious woman. She got a superstitious mind." and "We can't go on together with suspicious minds." Hate to tell ya Elf but 'suspicious' and 'superstitious' are not the same thing! I love you anyways. Ya goofy! blondemoment - 44k - "Oh my god, it's another blonde moment! Everybody run!!!"
October 15, 2000 snoring - 106k - We slept in this morning. Missed church... and going out to breakfast afterwards! Waaah!
Punz's birthday is this Saturday. I think I'll change the 'Song of the Week' on Monday to one of her favorites. :)
October 16, 2000 vote4me - 22k - "Vote for me! Vote for me!"
(begin rant) I don't ask for much! Just a little recognition! A token gesture really! Doesn't cost YOU anything but a few seconds of time! Clicking my link to Top50Wavsites and voting for my site ain't gonna hurt you! I even have it set up so it comes up in a separate window! You can vote while downloading a wav!!! Come on, please vote for me????? You can say it was your 'good deed' for today! (end rant)
October 17, 2000 luvuguys - 60k - from South Park, Cartman "I love you guys! (dramatic pause) Ah, screw you guys!"
Yesterday my site ended up in the top ten sites at Top50Wavsites! YEAH!!!
But it's not Good Enuff! (evil cackle) I want more votes!!! More votes means my site is higher on the list, which means more people will see it and then come visit, which means even more votes! Ahahaahaaahaaaa.....
Punz here! Wav Junky had to lay down for a while. It might have something to do with the missing bags of Halloween candy we had bought for the Trick-or-Treaters. Hopefully things will be back to 'normal' tomorrow after WJ comes down off that sugar rush. :)
October 18, 2000 regret - 22k - C3PO "I'm going to regret this."
Have you ever started a project before really looking into how much work is involved? I have undertaken a very big job. I want to make The Best Star Wars Wav Page Of All Time! I want to have every spoken line in the movie available as a downloadable wav! I want to have the most complete list of bloopers from the movie! I want to overwhelm my visitors with so much facts and trivia about the movie that their minds will blow! I want to work myself into an early grave!!! My Star Wars wav 'page' has grown into a whole site! I have the feeling I'm going to regret this...
October 19, 2000 spooksville - 32k - from Scooby-Doo show, Shaggy "Man, this is spooksville."
Is it just me? Or has it gotten sort of creepy around here?
evillaff - 66k - Did you hear that? - I don't hear nuthin, I'm under the bed!!!
October 20, 2000 irony - 110k - from Con Air, Steve Buscemi "Define irony. Bunch of idiots dancing on a plane to a song made famous by a band that died in a plane crash."
Today in 1977 3 members of the rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd died in a charter plane crash.
October 21, 2000 Happy Birthday, Punz!
I see we have a few new visitors that are friends of VertMan! Welcome! Please thank him from me for all the links!! Pass on a message from me, too. The reason his site was deleted wasn't because of me. It was because he didn't read the membership agreement he signed when he started the site at 50megs.com which "has a zero tolerance policy for spam, pornography, and warez... Any sites found to contain, promote, or link to such content are subject to immediate removal from our service."
rulez - 45k - Grandpa in Lost Boys "Rules! We got some rules around here."
I did do a search for webspace providers that might serve your 'needs'. Have you tried www.9ug.com? Nothing in their Terms of Service about no 'adult' sites...
Oh, this is the wav Elf and Punz wanted me to put up today, dedicated to VertMan -
notsorry - 59k - Rhett Butler "You're like the thief who isn't the least bit sorry he stole, but he's terribly terribly sorry he's going to jail."
But I'm a lot 'nicer' than they are... :)
October 22, 2000 football - 24k - Hank Jr. "Are you ready for some football!!"
In 1939 the first televised professional football game featured the Philadelphia Eagles vs the Brooklyn Dodgers in Ebbets Field with Allen "Skip" Waltz as announcer.
And in 1950 a record score in the NFL as the Los Angeles Rams stopped the Baltimore Colts, 70-27, in a regular season game.

October 23, 2000 We're not sure, but we might have picked up a virus that killed the modem. If we don't update for a while that's why, we will return as soon as we can but we need to back up Elf's songs, our graphics, and literally thousands of wavs. An extra special thank you to Punz's dad for letting us use his 'puter for this update.
meinsane - 99k - female "I know what the plan is, You're trying to drive me insane!!!"
October 24, 2000 imback - 114k - (evil laff) "I'm baaccckkkk!" Do I really need to say more? :)
October 25, 2000 goodstry - 48k - Mulder from the X-Files. "Thats a good story, but i've heard alot of good stories lately."
Hi all, this is Elf. (begin rant) This wav is in response to the daily wav at My Fave Wavs, I just find it incredible that so many people fall for this rhetorical disguise for what it really is! "Give some money back to the people who pay the bills" and of couirse that means in english, the more you pay the more relief you get back. further translated, people like you and me get nothing, and our rich bosses get all the tax relief. I like Don I just don't agree with him politically. (end rant)
October 26, 2000 diffstk - 130k - This is a clip of the theme song from the old television program "Diff'rnt strokes". I think that the differences in people are what makes life interesting. Elf will not be swayed from his opinion about George W. Bush even when faced with all the anti-Gore articles and such that are out there. I'm remaining neutral, I like neither candidate. Elf has strong opinions, and they are exactly opposite from the guy that inspired the daily update on this site. Everybody, cant we just recognize that "Now the world dont move to the beat of just one drum, what might be right for you, may not be right for some, it takes different strokes to rule the world."
October 27, 2000 roadkill - 45k - from Mask, Jim Carrey "Look ma! I'm road kill! Ha-ha-ha!"
Elf almost got himself a motorcyclist today! We were stopped at a stop sign and had the car's right-turn signal on. Just as Elf started to make his turn a motorcycle came whizzing up on the right, between our car & the curb, and made a turn cutting us off! Then the jerk weaved in and out of traffic, cutting several other people off too! Like Elf is always saying "They give these people driver's licenses?" I won't be surprised to see this jerk splattered all over the road someday. "Look ma! I'm road kill!"
October 28 - 29, 2000 nicetry - 50k - female computer "Nice try, but I'm afraid you can't do that."
Some time Friday the server at 50megs bit the dust! We didn't know about it until late that night when we tried to update!!! So here 'again' is Saturday's wavs...
choco2 - 19k - from ST:TNG, Troi "Chocolate is a serious thing."
register - 27k - Cash register sound
Punz and Elf are setting up at the Elks club on River Road for their craft show today. Here is an example of what is going to be sold. They're 'Kiss Kritters' because there's just enough room in the mouth for a Hershey's kiss. If you live in Tucson stop by and Elf will give you a free kiss. The chocolate kind that is.
October 30, 2000 This wav came from www.earthstation1.com Thank you! invasion - 185k - CBS News broadcaster "Ladies and Gentlemen, I have a grave announcement to make; incredible as it may seem, both the observations of science and the evidence of our eyes lead to the inescapable assumption that those strange beings who landed in the Jersey farmlands tonight, are the vanguard of an invading army from the planet Mars."
Millions of people were riveted in front of their radios as these words were broadcast on this day in 1938. It was the infamous broadcast of H.G. Wells "The War of the Worlds" by Orson Wells. It was of course not true but this nation was truly captivated and there was alot of very afraid people out there. It would be easy to look at them and laugh but you can't say that under the same circumstances that you wouldn't panic.
Happy Halloween!
October 31, 2000 Monsters and Ghoulies have taken over the site! Who are they? Why are they here?? What could they want??? ~~~I Want Candy! I Want Candy!~~~
